Teen Volunteers Needed! Print E-mail
Teens - Teen Programs

Hey, teens! Are you looking for a way to fight boredom this summer and help your community at the same time? Need some volunteer hours for a service organization or to put on that college resume? If so, then the Lumpkin County Library is hoping that you will volunteer to help with our Vacation Reading Program this summer. We need volunteers from the end of May until the end of July to help on program days (Wednesdays beginning June 4) either morning shift (11:00 – 2:00 pm) or afternoon shift (1:00 – 4:00 p.m.) and one other day during the week (11:00 – 2:00 pm.).

If you volunteer, you would be manning the registration table, signing kids up for the program, and recording reading time for participating children. You would help with prizes and help shelve books in the children’s area, too. You will receive a free T-shirt, and we will provide you with a letter that certifies you were an official volunteer!

If you think that this opportunity is too good to pass up, then stop by the library to pick up an application packet. Once we have received your completed application, we will contact you to set up an interview date and time. If selected, we will then set up training and get ready to roll into Summer Reading. The deadline for applications is April 30. Please call the Lumpkin County Library at 706-864-3668 for any questions.
